When I teach my sons about the importance of developing character as an individual, I share the story of Welles Crowther. I am thankful that I share the earth with individuals like Welles Crowther. I am comforted in my knowledge there are more individuals similar to Welles Crowther who would do the same given the chance, unblinking. We are blessed to have role models like Welles Crowther to educate our families on why character matters.
